Glenn Stearns, star of "Undercover Billionaire" and CEO of Kind Lending, sat down with me to discuss some key elements that led to his amazing success from humble beginnings. He was a father at 14 years of age, and while many would have resigned to the fact that their life was over, Glenn took it as a blessing and made it work. He went on to become the largest wholesale lender in the country and is now incredibly philanthropic.

As a serial entrepreneur, Glenn is going back to his roots and is the Founder and CEO of Kind Lending, a new mortgage banker in the industry. Glenn is mostly known in the mortgage industry for building Stearns Lending, LLC, a nationwide mortgage company that he established in 1989. The company became one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in the nation for many years and received many accolades including being ranked as one of the Top Workplaces in Orange County, California. The wholesale lending division became the #1 lender in America and Stearns has helped over 1,000,000 families achieve home ownership. In 2014, Blackstone purchased the majority share of Stearns Lending.

In 2019, Glenn starred in the television show, Undercover Billionaire, on the Discovery channel. The show was centered around starting over again and building a business from the ground floor. The show featured the importance of team building, accountability, and perseverance. The company he built on the show, Underdog BBQ, is currently operating today in Erie, Pennsylvania, where the show took place.

Glenn is also the founder of Anivive Life Science, TriVerify, TriMavin, United Housing Services, Carriage Escrow and Mortgage Services Providers Holdings. He is an investor in Indi.com and Lender Price and the largest shareholder of California-based, Infinity bank. Carriage Escrow and United Housing Services were recognized as the largest settlement service provider and largest auditor for HUD.

Glenn and his wife, Mindy, are very active in the community having been honored for their dedication to community service and philanthropy with Muhammad Ali’s Parkinson’s Foundation “Couple of the Year” Award, Starkey Hearing Foundation’s “American Couple of the Year,” One OC’s “Giving is Living Award” and the Orangewood Children’s Foundation’s “Golden Heart Award.”

About Michael Valdes: 

Michael Valdes is the newly named President of eXp Global at eXp Realty. Previously Michael was the senior vice president of global servicing for Realogy Corporation, one of the world's largest real estate companies and parent to Coldwell Banker, C21 and Sotheby’s.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Valdes was Director of Private Banking at Deutsche Bank for just under a decade where he oversaw a book of business of just under $1 billion. He has the distinction of being the first Director in the United States of Latino descent. Mr. Valdes is the Chair of the AREAA Global Advisory Board and co-host of the 2020 AREAA Global Luxury Summit. He is also a current member of the NAHREP Corporate Board of Governors and a member of Forbes' Real Estate Council.
